Emmet's Irish Pub & Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
Emmet’s is the perfect mix of cozy pub vibes and seriously good food. The husband and I opted for a seat at the bar, the best for people watching, so that was a no-brainer. Our bartender was easygoing and polite. We started with a cup of clam chowder and onion soup—both super comforting and full of flavor. I’m a sucker for a good Caesar salad, and theirs hit the spot. Fresh, crunchy, loaded with house-made croutons, and dressed perfectly. For the main event, we split the sampler with Guinness Beef Stew, Shepherd’s Pie, and Chicken Pot Pie. Total comfort food heaven—each one was rich, satisfying, and full of flavor (but the stew was definitely my favorite!!). Oh, and the live music was an added bonus! We're already looking forward to coming back next time we’re in town. Highly recommend!
Great pub vibes at Emmett’s! Loved the chicken fingers, fried pickles, curry fries was great too and tried their emmets seafood combo and the mulled wine was the winner for me perfectly spiced -Definitely worth a visit.
I liked my experience at Emmets! Starting with the servers: they were nice and helped us finding a nice table, even when we asked to switch. She was patient and always smiling. The atmosphere at the place is cozy and maybe finer than a real pub… but this is a positive for me. Irish music playing on the background is nice and not too loud and we could enjoy our dinner comfortably. Obviously, I nice Guinness made everything even better. Food was solid but not the best Irish I had (in town and anywhere else). We tried different things: the French onion soup and the Reuben Spring Rolls. The first was good, the spring rolls could have been cooked better: they were oily and greasy, covering the taste of the filling. The Fish & Chips was pretty good: fish was very well fried and tasteful. I asked for curry sauce on the side: I am ok with them to charge me $2 for it, but I was disappointed about it since it was very watery and with little flavor. Shepherd’s Pie was good too: not the best I have ever had, but it was decent. Maybe too much mashed potatoes and too little of the rest. But flavors were good and portion were generous. I give them a 4 stars rating because I enjoyed my night there and I will definitely go back. But they must definitely do better with the food!
Had a very good fish and chips lunch here on a Friday afternoon. Crispy, light batter; fresh fish; and served really hot. Not cheap, but not bad given restaurant prices these days. Well worth the visit.
This was our first time visiting and we had a great experience. Food was DELICIOUS! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming. Seating was a little tight, as we were literally back to back with people at another table. But we didn't mind too much. The waitress and manager were kind and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!
We throughly enjoyed everything we ordered here. I think our two favorite dishes were the Guinness Onion Soup and the Lobster Roll. We also enjoyed the potato skins and shepherds pie. But don’t skip the Guinness Onion Soup - it’s everyone’s favorite for a reason. We didn’t have a reservation but were seated quickly, despite the restaurant being pretty packed when we arrived at 7:30 on a Thursday night. The servers were very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. We also loved the Irish Coffee - one of the best I’ve ever had. We’d definitely come here again and recommend!
We absolutely loved our visit to Emmet’s Irish Restaurant! I got the Beef & Guinness Pie and my husband had the Fish & Chips — both were amazing! The pie was rich and comforting, and the fish was perfectly crispy and flavorful. There was live music playing, which made the atmosphere so fun and cozy. We came here before going to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and it honestly couldn’t have been a more perfect start to the night. Highly recommend!
Emmet’s Irish Pub is hands down my favorite cozy pub in Boston. The atmosphere feels authentic, with dark wood interiors, friendly bartenders, and a welcoming crowd. I came for the Guinness — poured perfectly every time — and stayed for the hearty Irish fare. The fish and chips were golden, crispy, and not greasy, with flaky fish inside. I also tried the shepherd’s pie, which was comforting, rich, and packed with flavor. The portion sizes are generous without being overwhelming. What I love most is that the pub never feels overly touristy despite being in Beacon Hill. It’s a great place to unwind with friends over a pint or enjoy a quiet meal solo. The service is always attentive but never rushed. If you’re looking for a classic Irish pub experience in Boston with great drinks and food, Emmet’s should be high on your list. I’ll definitely be back!
